 The New Hope Baptist Church, was organized August 3 , 1959 by Rev. D.S Jordan. A small band of Christian workers ( 43) met from house to house , holding their religious services. Regular meetings were later held at Parkview Baptist Church.  Rev. Earl Hamilton,( Pastor) along with our recognition services, August 30, 1959.  The churches of the city and the Friendship Baptist Church, Rev. T.J. Marigna, Pastor;  and St. John Baptist Church, Rev M.E. Proby pastor, both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Both took part in our recognition services. Rev. M.E. Proby acted as our moderator, Rev. W.T. Liggins, Pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Denver Colorado was our guest speaker.

After one month of being organized, members and well - wishers gathered for ground breaking ceremonies for an auditorium at 18th and Martin street, this is where lots were purchased.

A church bell was donated to the church by the railroad, through Mr. Ollie Hill contributions were received from all over the city, and in many instances out of town.  Prior to this date, services were being held at Masonic Hall, Baptismal services were conducted at the Bethlehem Baptist church, Rev. O.B. McClendon, Pastor. Rev. D.S. Jordan offered his resignation in 1960, but offered his assistance if needed.  In March 1960  services were held in the new auditorium Rev. W.B .Phillips was called as Pastor. Dedication services were held in June 1960.  Guess speaker was Rev. W.C. Jones, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church Denver, Colorado,  The cornerstone was laid in July 1961 by the F & A.M. Grand Lodge.  On August 8, 1961 New  Hope Baptist Church joined the Western States Missionary Baptist Convention, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho.   

Rev. F.L. Chandler Former Assistant Pastor of St. John Baptist Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado was called to  Pastor in September 1961.  He was followed by Rev.  Carl Sykes, Rev. Burnett S. Lane , Rev.William J.  Sankey Sr,  Rev. C. J. Proby,  Rev. Shadrach  J.  Thomas, Rev. Hardil Thomas, Rev. David Henderson, Rev.  William J. Sankey, Sr.  All which have various accomplishments which can be found in our archive.  Rev.  Charlie S.  Sankey Sr, was called to Pastor in 1982, and still serves to this date.
